Their latest book, published this February, is The Little
Death, set on the beyond-wealthy island of Palm Beach. In it, Louis Kincaid is hired to investigate the death of Mark Durand, a handsome high-class “walker,” who escorted wealthy women – both married and single – to posh Palm Beach galas. Durand’s beheaded corpse was found in an abandoned cattle pen west of Palm Beach. Kincaid agrees to help prime suspect Reggie Kent, an aging walker who may or may not have been the victim’s lover. Kincaid uncovers shocking truths about a powerful woman senator, a silver-tongued dowager with a taste for gossip and a seductive socialite who tries to lure him into her bed by whispering three little words:
“Die with me…”
Best-selling novelist Brad Meltzer says of The Little
Death: “It’s a lollipop, filled with sex, murder and money, all set in the insanity that is Palm Beach Society.
The Little Death is so damn big and yummy.”
Best-selling crime novelist, Jeffery Deaver, says: “Part procedural, part gritty psychological thriller, part Florida noir,
The Little Death moves briskly and unpredictably, as the plots shining through the lives of the many and indelible characters keep us riveted to the end.”
